Sunday 13th January was a cold grey wintry afternoon, but despite this, a panel of some thirty intrepid parishioners took to the pitch for a Hockey Tournament at Loreto Girls School, Foxrock.
This was truly an all-age venture with players ranging in age from 7 to 70+! It also displayed a huge variance in “dress sense” from those in fashionable sporty tee-shirt and shorts to those who could best be described as resembling the Michelin Man! The sidelines contained another fifteen to twenty hardy parishioners who had come along to support.
The action was fast, furious…..and erratic but at the end of the math, the score was a tie – meaning there were no losers and everyone was a winner!
This event followed a Family Service at the later time of 11:00am, which in turn was followed by a Soup and Sandwich lunch in the Parish Hall.
Our thanks go to Barbara Cooper and volunteers for organising the lunch and to Julie Savage and Niall Crowley for organising both the tournament venue and the tournament itself. Also thanks to all who played and supported this most enjoyable event.
Pictures of the tournament can be seen on the parish website (www.tullowdublin.org) on the Home Page by clicking on ‘Hockey Tournament’ at the bottom of the Home Page.
