On June 24th, some of the Evergreens joined a guided walk around Kilbogget Park just outside of Cabinteely village, led by Andrew Fleming, a local dun Laoghaire/Rathdown biodiversity officer. Walkers got a good description of the flora and fauna of this quite hidden suburban park. Along the length of the park river, ducks, pond reeds, local trees and plant life were all described in detail to enthusiastic listeners by Andrew, the walk leader.
Thankfully, the rain stayed off for most of the walk until the last few minutes. The walk was organised as part of a series of general walks in the locality, looking at the wildlife in the Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown area.
