Another session is over and ended with the Club Finals on April 16th last, the John Arnold Singles cup was won by Hazel Alexander and the Malseed Doubles trophy was won by Hilary Cran and Joan Darling. The matches were followed by the A.G.M. at which the following elections were made for the next season:
Captain – Hazel Alexander, Hon. Secretary – Joan Darling, Hon. Treasurer – Pat McConnell, Auditor – Alan Grey, committee – Hilary Cran, Meta Morton and Valerie Doherty.
The following evening, we all gathered for a most enjoyable dinner in the Box Tree restaurant. It was with great sadness that we attended the funeral of Beryl Malseed. Beryl was a loyal member and talented bowler for many years with the club and will be sadly missed. Out sympathy is extended to her family at this time.
We look forward to a warm sunny summer (hopefully) and welcoming everyone back next September refreshed for a new session and we would really welcome new members to join our little band of happy bowlers!
