As I write, I am not aware of any parishioners being in hospital at present. However, it may be timely to remind readers that, due to Data Protection legislation, hospitals are no longer permitted to allow parish clergy access to the names of their patients. This means that clergy will not know that you, a friend or family member is in hospital unless you tell them. I would like to ask parishioners to let me know if anyone is in hospital and would appreciate a visit – even if their hospital stay is only for a day or two – as I would rather hear 10 times than not at all! It is only by letting your Rector know that the best level of pastoral care can be given and I thank you in anticipation for your cooperation.
