A group of some twenty-six members and volunteers travelled to Rathmichael to the home and gardens of Richard and Corinne Hewat for afternoon tea on Thursday 7th July. Although it was very overcast when we left Tullow, we arrived to pleasant sunshine which afforded an excellent opportunity to wander and explore their magnificent gardens. Having soaked in the tranquil setting, the group tucked into a feast of scones, swiss-rolls, traybakes, fruit cake and other delicacies “al fresco”. It was great to see so many members enjoying the occasion in the fresh air. Many thanks to Jennifer Sowman and her willing band of volunteers for organising this event.
