Lent………
So many traditional concepts……..
No fun;
No enjoyment;
‘sackcloth and ashes’ time;
isn’t it time we thought outside the box?
instead of ‘giving up’ something – chocolate, alcohol, cigarettes and many more things (though it’s a good idea as well) –
why not, for 2012 – ‘take up’ something instead?
Such as………
spending an hour a week chatting with people in a nursing home?
taking over the flowers from someone who’s always doing it in church?
collecting someone & taking them to lunch?
cook a meal for someone you don’t know so well in your own home?
start a collection for a little-known charity?
it’s a blank canvas and yours to colour in……make it bright, cheerful and happy – make it memorable……….
