On Sunday 27th November, we welcomed the 3Rock Youth team consisting of Greg Fromholz and Susie Keane to our monthly “Worship Together” Service. They also provided the services of Fergus, a vocalist/guitarist to lead some contemporary worship songs. Greg gave an Advent Address with a theme of waiting in anticipation with graphics of falling snow! Susie spoke briefly about the work of 3 Rock Youth in many of the Dublin schools and offering her services to parishes in the form of Confirmation preparation.
The Service also welcomed members of our Guiding organisations; both guides and Brownies and their leaders, who were marking the important occasion of the centenary of their foundation in 1911. The official celebration took place at 19:11 on the evening when their Mission Statement for the next centenary was read out – “Shoot for the moon – even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”
Many thanks to all who made this Service possible, including Alan Rhodes, the 3 Rock Team, the Guides and Brownies and Paul McNulty. Thanks also as usual to the catering team for the reception afterwards.
