On Friday 21st June (mid-summer’s night) our parish Travelling Supper was held in the Cabinteely area and proved to be a veritable mid-summer’s fest! Despite a rain shower before the start, the evening remained dry as over 50 guests mingled both indoors and out or moved from house to house. The festivities began with hors d’oeuvres at the home of Cleo and Leslie Ellis. This was followed by main course at the home of Barbara and David Cooper and finished with dessert and tea/coffee at the home of June and Paul Hayes.
Throughout the evening, there was a great atmosphere of banter and chat as each move helped people to meet different fellow guests. This coupled with the excellent food, cheerful volunteer servers and beautiful homely surroundings contributed to it being a brilliant social occasion. To add to this, the event raised €1,500 towards parish funds! Many thanks to the hostesses and hosts and to the many volunteers for making this event such an enjoyable occasion.
