We had a lovely Advent Holy Communion followed by lunch in the Rectory on Thursday 13th December. The delicious lunch consisted of Chicken Poppy and trifle, with mince pies and coffee, all washed down by the odd glass of wine or so! In spite of a bad cold, the Rector led us all in several rousing Christmas Carols and songs on the guitar. It was a very happy occasion. We had a few illnesses amongst our willing band of helpers and we are delighted all are on the mend. Much thanks go to Janet Moore, Joan Darling and Frank Sowman (who showed great prowess in the kitchen!) for all their assistance on the day. Dawn Gethings and David Morton’s help is always much appreciated. We hope to hold our next Connect Lunch during Lent, on Thursday 7th March 2013, and as usual, invitations will be sent out and lifts organised for those who wish. Happy New Year to all.
