The season finished with a change in the planned walk for May. Glendalough, in beautiful summer conditions, was not the place to be on a Bank Holiday weekend with traffic congestion at a peak so we reverted back to the Little Sugar Loaf walk which had been cancelled in March due to snow.
A small but happy group enjoyed a great walk under blue skies with a little climbing up the south side to the summit and an airy transverse along the ridge to descend at Kilmacanogue. We had a high lunch on the summit under warm sunshine overlooking the blue sea from Howth to Wicklow Head. Wonderful!
The Walk Programme for next season will be available in September by which me I will have tested some exciting new routes!
