The Connect Group outing to Kilmacurrragh Botanic Gardens on Thursday 23rd June was blessed with lovely weather. For the more sedentary, it was great to be able to sit in a part of the tranquil gardens in the pleasant sunshine. For the more active, there was the opportunity to tour the grounds with the official guide, Alice. From her we were able to learn more about the history of the estate and of its many rare trees and shrubs together with some of their planting plans for the future. It was then time to repair to the Tea Shop for afternoon tea and a natter which rounded off the afternoon. Many thanks to Jennifer Sowman and her team of helpers and drivers for organising this outing.
