The final informal evening Service before the summer break was held on Sunday 24th May in the Parish Hall. By popular request it was a celebration of Holy Communion which was appreciated by all – but especially by those who will shortly be commencing State examinations and those who were in the midst of end of term exams. The experimental seating layout seems to be effective in creating an intimate and communal atmosphere – but a full feedback from those who have attended would be very much appreciated. As mentioned last month, for the past year and a half our informal Evening Services have gone by the acronym of SWAB (Service With A Bite). However, for those familiar with medical procedures, this name may conjure up unwelcome images. In light of this, we are now holding a competition to come up with a new name to be hopefully introduced when the evening Services recommence in the Autumn. The prize will be a presentation pew edition of the Book of Common Prayer. Please submit your entries to either Alan Rhodes (alanwrhodes@gmail.com) or the Rector (tanner1@eircom.net) before the end of June 2015.
