Due to the success of a similar Service last January, it was decided to mark the beginning of the week of prayer for Christian unity with another ‘Big Sing’. It was held on the afternoon of Sunday 18th January and received good ecumenical support – both in the congregation and choir. And it was indeed an uplifting, moving and beautiful occasion as we welcomed choir members, clergy and visitors from neighbouring Churches and parishes to join with us in giving praise and thanksgiving to God. The liturgy was taken from a recommended Service draft devised by Christians in Brazil for the World Council of Churches under the theme, ‘The well is deep’. As is customary and with typical Tullow hospitality, the Service was followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Many thanks to all those made this such a special occasion: to our organist and director of music, Dr. Paul McNulty and members of the choir, to visiting choir members from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock, Kill o’the Grange, St. Brigid’s, Stillorgan and Kilternan, to Hilary Cran, Barbara Cooper and their team for organising the Reception, to visiting clergy; Fr. Frank Herron and Canon David Moynan and to Alan Burns for organising recording and sound technicians. The collection at the Service coupled with other donations realized €1,114 in aid of Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza
