Autumn Fair 2014 – “THANK YOU”

On behalf of the Autumn Fair Steering Committee, a very big ‘thank you’ to everyone who worked so hard and helped make the day such a success. We greatly appreciated all the time and hard work put in by so many before, during and after the event. The good humour and enthusiasm the Stall holders, their helpers, those helping in the Church, the “gatekeepers” and all involved, generated on the day gave the Fair such a lovely atmosphere.

This atmosphere continued into the night as over one hundred tired parishioners and friends, many finely attired in period dress, returned to the hall for a lovely meal from and served by ‘Mau’ restaurant and organised by Meta and Jonathan Morton.

Well done to Muriel Grey and Terry Forsythe for winning the prizes for ‘best dressed’ lady and ‘best dressed’ man. Special thanks to Jonathan Morton who also organised the ‘Silent Auction’ for the signed Rugby shirt which raised €1,001 from an anonymous and most generous ‘bidder’.

It may surprise many to know that there were well in excess of 90 helpers working on the day which was wonderful support and credit to our parish.

Going to print, the total raised for our Parish is € 17,222.78 which is an exceptional result!

WELL DONE to all concerned and THANK YOU!

Barbara Cooper.
