Greystones Golf Course was bathed in sunshine as parishioners and friends met for soup and sandwiches before playing the annual 3-person team Event. Conditions were perfect for some high scores – with nine teams playing, there was speculation as to which team would burn up the course. But Greystones Gold course took its toll as we heard when everybody met up for a pre-dinner dink!
We were delighted to be joined at dinner by the Rector and ten parishioners and friends. After a very enjoyable meal, it was time for the prize giving – the score cards have been carefully checked by terry Forsyth. As always, thanks to Frank Johnson and Sam’s Cookies for two beautiful hampers and the generosity of people in bringing prizes. Everyone was a winner – including our dinner guests – with the prizes being presented by Sue Forsyth.
1st Team Prize was won by Richard FitzSimon, Alan McEachern and Torren Gale with a score of 70 points. 2nd Prize went to Neil Stuart, Gareth Morton and John Weir on 69 points. 3rd Prize went to Clifford Forsyth, Jill forsyth and Paul Hayes on 66 points. The remaining six teams followed closely, but I am under oath not to disclose some scores!! Nearest the Pin on the 14th was won by Christine McCluskey. A big thank you to everyone for making this a very happy and social occasion.
