We are now into the second half of our session. We have 17 members and weekly attendance is around 12/14. Welcome to our new member, Valerie. She is a bowler, so a valuable asset to the club.
We have had a few setbacks this year. Joan broke bones in her hand whilst on holiday and in only getting back to playing; Elaine had a pacemaker fitted and is now feeling so much better; Liz had a couple of falls but is back with us too. Despite all, we managed to field teams for the matches. Our Hope Cup team played a very tight game against St. Thomas’ and were only narrowly beaten. We have had mixed results in the McIlwaine League but have enjoyed the participation and fellowship with opposing teams. Tullow has been asked to host the semi-final of the Kerr Trophy on Tuesday 19th February.
All enjoyed our Christmas night of wine and Liz’s mince pies and look forward to the end-of-season club matches and usual annual dinner. Our thoughts and prayers are continually with Mo Walsh. We miss your smiles, jokes and monologues over supper Mo!
Once again, we look for new members and anyone wishing “to have a go” is welcome any Tuesday evening 7:30pm in the Parish Hall. Now that matches are nearly over, it would be a good time to come to play and socialise.
Hazel Alexander, Captain.
