Almost every family at one stage or another has been affected by cancer. Accordingly, it is a disease which many hold in dread. However, as medical research and knowledge develops, more and more are surviving the experience and are very grateful to the Irish Cancer Society for the support they so desperately needed. During Coffee after Church on Sunday 29th April, a voluntary collection on behalf of the Society was held. This raised the sum of €343 on the day. In addition, on 24th March, Team Tullow held a Beetle Drive for all ages which raised the sum of €117. Both these sums combined come to €460 which has been sent by cheque to the Society. Well done to Team Tullow, Barbara Cooper and Vera Tanner for this fund-raising effort.
