Friday 25th May dawned in brilliant sunshine and what promised to be a beautiful day did not disappoint as parishioners and friends met in Greystones Golf Club for soup and sandwiches before starting out on the annual 3 person team event. Lead at 1pm by the formidable team of Brian, Alan and Richard. Last out at 2:30pm was a 4-perosn team playing as a 3-person team! Paul and Jim were glad they were playing with Sue and Barbara who put some reasonable scores on their card. By 7pm, everybody was back in the club house for dinner to be joined by our dinner guests.
Thanks to Hilary who checked the score cards and were ready for the prize-giving at coffee time. Before presenting the prizes, Jim welcomed everybody, especially our guests and thanked all the golfers for arranging prizes with special thanks to Frank Johnson and Sam’s Cookies for two beautiful hampers as first and second prizes, which meant that everybody got a prize including our dinner guests. First prize was won by the Leslie Ellis team with a fantastic score of 90 points; second prize to the David Weir team with 70 points. The rest of us were somewhere after that! In conclusion, David Weir thanked Jim for organising the outing.
