The Rector Writes – course completion and thanks

As I write this article, I thankfully have come to the end of my 12-week Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.) course in St. Vincent’s Hospital. I have to admit that it was a rigorous process which took more out of me than I expected – however, it has also been very worthwhile and I believe it has helped me to grow my pastoral experience askill-set. In fact, it can be strongly argues that growth only occurs when one is pushed to the limits of stress!

Undertaking the course would not have been possible without the help and support of a number of people in the parish. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Alan Rhodes for undertaking a major portion of the Sunday preaching in recent weeks. I would also like to thank Patricia Stewart for visiting and keeping in contact with parishioners who have been ill or otherwise indisposed. To Caroline Kennedy for leading the mid-week Services and to Jane Bowes for undertaking the compilation of the Parish Newsletter.

I wish all Parishioners and friends and safe and restful summer.

With every blessing,

John.
